An ultra clean, contemporary design concept for this New Brand Offering by the Oberoi Hotel Group. The Trident Bandra Kurla ushered in the first of the Trident Properties, setting the standard for the Brand. The 436 key, 5-star, award-winning hotel is primarily aimed at the business traveller market sector. Situated 7km from Mumbai's International Airport, the hotel is located within one of India's most prominent Business & Commerce Hubs, the Bandra Kurla Development Complex.
The clean contemporary design makes use of subtle cultural references throughout the hotel to infuses an identity and instill a sense of place. The 'Floating Lobby' concept for example, draws inspiration from a number of Palaces and important landmarks throughout India. A recurrent design theme on this project, water features are used throughout the hotel in a variety of forms.
Defining the Lobby with an unmistakable sense of arrival, an expansive, full height laser-cut metal screen forms an impressive backdrop to the space. This important feature is a key design element which enhances the guest experience on multiple levels; taking them on a journey and offering a glimpse into the local culture. Viewed from the lobby and surrounding areas, at first glance it is both visually stimulating and engaging. When experienced from behind however, this powerful feature takes on an immersive sensory quality, offering a dynamic cultural experience as the guest passes from behind on the upper levels, forming a lasting memorable impression.
Inspired by an element commonly found in traditional Indian architecture known as a Jali Screen, this grand lobby feature sets the tone for the brand's aesthetic; clean functional contemporary, infused with cultural references.
The Public Areas of this hotel occupy 3 Floors and comprise: Lobby, Reception areas, Lift Lobbies & Lift Car Interiors, Flow Spaces, Lounge Bar with 2-storey Feature Wine Cellar, 3 - Meal Restaurant, Italian Restaurant with Bar, Indian Restaurant & Private Dining, Ballroom and Pre-Function spaces, and the Business Center, Meeting rooms, and conferencing facilities which occupy the entire 3rd Floor.
